We Press On

I would like to start by addressing the current events in our country. In the past few weeks, we were confronted with an unprecedented level of evil. Our Lord Jesus was clear about an ongoing spiritual battle since the very beginning:

Don’t assume that I came to bring peace on the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. Matthew 10:34

Although Jesus actively confronted and defeated the enemy by setting captives free and driving out demons, the subject of spiritual warfare has been neglected by the modern church because it has been deemed too uncomfortable. Yet, Jesus believed in and spoke constantly of a supernatural force that wants to steal, kill, and destroy. We can’t defeat this force with carnal weapons, but only with those that God provides:

The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 2 Corinthians 10:4

The enemy’s strategy is to stay hidden and demoralize his opponent into giving up before the first shot is even fired. When we attack the kingdom of darkness, we face severe opposition, but let us press on and continue this race no matter what.
